Finance Commission A quasi-judicial body constituted by the President every five years or at such earlier time as he considers necessary. Comptroller and Auditor General of India (CAG) The head of the Indian Audit and Accounts Department. National Commission for Scheduled Castes (NCSC) A constitutional body that works to safeguard the interests of the scheduled castes in India. It investigates and monitors all matters relating to the constitutional and other legal safeguards for the SCs. | Shri Kishor Makwana Since: March 2024 Eligibility: No specific qualifications are mentioned. The members are generally from a political or social work background with a deep understanding of the issues faced by Scheduled Castes. Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) Established: February 1964. Given statutory status in 2003. An apex Indian governmental body created to address governmental corruption. Central Information Commission (CIC) Established: 12th October 2005. The CIC is the appellate authority for those who are not satisfied with the information provided by a public authority. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Established: 1st April 1935. India's central bank and regulatory body responsible for the regulation of the Indian banking system.
